Repairs

Denture Repairs – If your denture breaks or a tooth on your denture chips/falls off, do not attempt to fix it yourself. Denture acrylic may seem easy to glue, but home repairs (for example, using Krazy Glue® or other adhesives) will not hold up for long and can cause serious fit issues and irritation to your gumscharingcross. An improper repair can alter how your denture fits, leading to soreness or even damage to your oral tissues. In the worst case, a botched DIY fix might make it harder for us to repair the denture correctly.

At UCH Denture Clinic, we offer professional same-day denture repair services in most cases. We understand how important your denture is for daily life, so we strive to get you back to smiling and eating as soon as possiblecharingcross. With our on-site lab equipment, we can often repair cracks, fractures, or broken teeth on your denture within a few hours. A proper repair involves more than just glue – we typically add new denture base material (the pink acrylic) to mend the breakage and ensure the denture’s strength is restored. We will also check the fit of your denture after repair and can make minor adjustments so it sits comfortably. When might you need a repair? Common situations include:

Broken Denture Base: Your denture has cracked or split (often due to being dropped or from biting something too hard).

Tooth Replacement: A false tooth on your denture has cracked or come loose. We can replace it and color-match the new tooth.

Clasp Repair/Additions: On partial dentures, a metal clasp may break or you might need a clasp adjusted or added if you’ve had a new crown, etc.

• Adding a Tooth to a Partial: If you’ve had a natural tooth extracted that was next to your partial denture, we can add a denture tooth in that space so your partial continues to fit and function. Most repairs are straightforward and can be completed quickly.

However, if your denture has broken multiple times or is very old, it may indicate underlying issues – for example, the denture may be worn out or not fitting correctly anymore. In such cases, we might recommend discussing options for a new denture or a rebase. Our priority is to ensure you have a denture that is comfortable, functional, and durable. If your denture needs fixing, don’t worry – just give us a call. We’ll repair your denture professionally so you can get back to your normal routine with confidence.
